Tu sei la mia vita, ossia Symbolum ’77

Italiano/ItalianEnglish/Inglese
You are all my life, Lord, I have nothing more;
you the path I follow, you the truth I hold.
I will walk according to your holy word
until my last breath, until the hour you call me home.
Nothing will I fear, O Lord, with you at my side,
so I ask, remain here with me.
Credo in te, Signore, nato da Maria,
figlio eterno e santo, uomo come noi,
morto per amore, vivo in mezzo a noi,
una cosa sola con il Padre e con i tuoi,
fino a quando, io lo so, tu ritornerai,
per aprirci il regno di Dio.
I believe in you, Lord, from a Virgin born,
holy son eternal, yet one of our own;
dying out of love, now living in our midst,
you unite your faithful with the Father in yourself;
we await the joyful day when you will return
and open the kingdom of God.
Tu sei la mia forza, altro io non ho,
tu sei la mia pace, la mia libertá,
niente nella vita ci separerá,
so che la tua mano forte non mi lascerá
so che in ogni male tu mi ripererai
e nel tuo perdono vivró.
You are all my strength, Lord, I have nothing more;
you the peace I seek, and you my freedom true.
Nothing in this life can you from me unjoin:
your strong hand upholds me and will never let me go.
From all evil, I affirm, you will set me free,
and the life of grace I will know.
Padre della vita, noi crediamo in te,
Figlio salvatore, noi speriamo in te,
Spirito d'amore, vieni in mezzo a noi:
tu da mille strade ci raduni in unitá,
e per mille strade, poi, dove tu vorrai,
noi saremo il seme di Dio.
We believe in you, God, Father of all life,
and we hope in you, Lord, Son who saves the world,
and you, Spirit of love, come into our midst:
you from countless roads draw us together, make us one,
and to countless roads, then, where it pleases you
we shall be the seeds of God.
