Te Deum

We praise you, O God: we acknowledge you as Lord.
All the earth venerates you as Father.
To you all the angels, all the heavens and all powers,
to you the cherubim and seraphim proclaim with incessant voice:
Holy, holy, holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of your glory.

The glorious choir of apostles,
the praiseworthy assembly of prophets,
the white-robed army of martyrs
praise you.
In every land of the earth the holy Church acknowledges you:
Father of immense majesty,
your true and only Son deserving of veneration,
and the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.

Christ, you are the king of glory.
You are the Father’s eternal Son.
In order to free captive humanity,
you did not dread the Virgin’s womb.
By subjugating the sting of death,
you have opened the kingdom of heaven to those who trust you.
You sit at God’s right hand,
in the Father’s glory.
You are believed to be coming as judge.
Therefore we ask you,
give aid to your servants,
whom you have redeemed with your precious blood.
Grant that they be numbered among the saints in eternal glory.

Save your people, Lord, and bless your inheritance.
And rule them, and lift them up even to eternity.
Every day we bless you,
and we praise your name in this age, and in the age of ages.
Deign, Lord, to keep us this day without sin.
Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy.
Let your mercy be upon us, O Lord, for we have hoped in you.
Yes, in you have we hoped, O Lord:
let me not be troubled for ever.
