            Iam vana noctis décidant,mentis reátus súbruat,
 quicquid tenébris hórridum
 nox áttulit culpæ, cadat,

Ut mane illud últimum,quod præstolámur cérnui,
 in lucem nobis éffluat,
 dum hoc canóre cóncrepat.

Deo Patri sit glóriaeiúsque soli Fílio
 cum Spíritu Paráclito,
 in sempitérna sǽcula. Amen.

            Let night’s vanities now fall away,let the mind’s guilt fall away;
 those horrid things of darkness
 which sin’s night has brought: let it fall,

So that the final dawn might flowout onto us who bow down
 in watchful expectation
 while this melody resounds.

Glory to God the Fatherand to his only Son
 with the Spirit Paraclete,
 into eternal ages. Amen.
